A SCIENTIFIC DISPLAY OF SPECTACULAR TALENTS AT AMITY INTERNATIONAL COLLEGE, Yaoundé.
The environment at Amity International College on the 16th December, 2017, was overwhelming and encapsulating following the science fair that was witnessed by parents and other invitees. The presence of his excellency; the Prime minister; Head of Government as a parent, ministers, representatives of the ministries of Basic and Secondary Education,directors, the Divisional Officer for Yaounde V, the Divisional Delegate of Secondary Education for Mefou and Afamba Division, the chief and notables of Nkolfoulou and a host of other auspicious guests bespoke to the importance of science and technology in the lives of youths as scientists in a post-colonial world.
The manner in which the students of the Primary and the Secondary sections of Amity would impact the society through science was top on the presentations. In all, about one hundred projects galvanized by the students left many impressed.Projects from the primary such as the artificial eggs, the floating egg, the rising water project, the crystal ball, moving Robots, Crane and a host of others were presented with mind blowing observations.
The secondary section demonstrated the state of arts of the science laboratories through projects such as food tests, body mass index, plane construction, manufacturing of soap, burning ice, lava lamp, sublimation of iodine, making fire, pool chlorine in coca cola, dehydration of sugar,hydraulic crane and digger, elephant toothpaste, puzzles, golden ratio, Leonardo Davinci’s bridge, the stroop effect, the big book, the color effects, Demonstration of volcanic eruption, the hydrological system, the emergence of Cameroon 2035, the demonstration of the cultural diversity of Cameroon and others were showcased with appalling and far-reaching effects on the audience. With all the exhibitions, there was every indication that Cameroon would reach emergent point as stipulated by the Head of state; His Excellency President Paul Biya.
